The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Portsalon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Branson to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, Brian Ryan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Portsalon booed when Glasacken FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donelle Benson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Glasacken FC's goalkeeper Brakawn Ghee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brian Ryan. Brian Ryan struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Brakawn Ghee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portsalon. After a rather tough play, Glasacken FC's Ros Moran got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Bean Lavine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Glasacken FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portsalon the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beartlai Caffey in the 35th minute of play forced Glasacken FC's goalkeeper Brakawn Ghee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hayes Glen Crowe to strike the kick off in the second half. Braon McBrandon hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Glasacken FC's Brakawn Ghee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braon McBrandon in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to Glasacken FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Hayes Glen Crowe hit a great ball. Portsalon's Brian Ryan got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Glasacken FC's Ros Moran got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Glasacken FC's Brakawn Ghee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Ryan in the 77th minute of play. Hayes Glen Crowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Don Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Terrence Dillon kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Hayes Glen Crowe charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hayes Glen Crowe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd match minute, Glasacken FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hayes Glen Crowe to maneuver through the defense. If Brian Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brakawn Ghee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Portsalon fans cheered their team off the field, for while Glasacken FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
