An unexpectedly hard shot by Donncha Quinnless in the 14th minute of play forced Mungairit's goalkeeper Lou Willson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 played minutes, Coolnageragh's Leonard McAaron shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lou Willson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coolnageragh reached it. 17 minutes into the match, Mungairit's goal looked a bit too open when Baran McPhil came free, but Lou Willson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bree Silke hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Donncha Quinnless shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lou Willson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Mungairit's goal looked a bit too open when Baran McPhil came free, but Lou Willson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mungairit's Boddibevve Frankson got a free kick in the 25th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donncha Quinnless in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lou Willson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 33 played minutes Mungairit got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Cooney. In the 39th minute, Donegal Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Donncha Quinnless had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lou Willson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donncha Quinnless, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donncha Quinnless was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Donncha Quinnless dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lou Willson, 0-1. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mungairit's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baran McPhil got free with Lou Willson in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Bearchan Lester came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Mungairit fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bearchan Lester couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Coolnageragh booed when Mungairit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Mungairit got a freekick which was hit by Bree Silke. Lou Willson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 86th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. The supporters of Coolnageragh booed when Mungairit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddy Moran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baran McPhil took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lou Willson. Baran McPhil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lou Willson having to make a save. Donncha Quinnless sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dennis Cooney fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mungairit's protests and gave Dennis Cooney a yellow card for diving instead. Dennis Cooney hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Mungairit fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Coolnageragh were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
