Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Ardaghy's Becc McAlphie started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rordan Ramsey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gordan McPeter having to make a save. Gordan McPeter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bressal Tracy's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. In the 11th minute, Becc McAlphie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ardaghy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Gordan McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bressal Tracy in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gordan McPeter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur McTommy in the 28th minute of play forced Ardaghy's goalkeeper Gordan McPeter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ballinafad's Beale Palmer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ballinafad from getting a goal against them. Ardaghy's Gordan McPeter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur McTommy in the 36th minute of play. Gordan McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bressal Tracy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Bressal Tracy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ardaghy's zone, Bressal Tracy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gordan McPeter came out of the goal and Bressal Tracy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur McTommy to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ardaghy getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Harvey Keegan hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Bressal Tracy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arthur McTommy was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Harvey Keegan charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harvey Keegan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Harvey Keegan hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ballinafad's Barram Ghee tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Bressal Tracy notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ardaghy's Gordan McPeter. Gordan McPeter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Beale Palmer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beollan Harkin went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Becc McAlphie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beollan Harkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beale Palmer having to interfere. Bressal Tracy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gordan McPeter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Arthur McTommy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gordan McPeter. Arthur McTommy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Barde McSteven kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur McTommy in the 96th minute of play forced Ardaghy's goalkeeper Gordan McPeter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ballinafad were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
