When Ballybane's Bevan Kirby in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cloncagh's goalie prevented a goal. In the 11th minute John Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bearnard Holt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cloncagh's Barhart McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bevan Kirby in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bevan Kirby in the 13th minute of play forced Cloncagh's goalkeeper Barhart McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barra McGlynn in the 15th minute of play forced Cloncagh's goalkeeper Barhart McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Blar McDecland fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloncagh's protests and gave Blar McDecland a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ballybane booed when Cloncagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blar McDecland didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bevan Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bevan Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Babe McTom had several of the Cloncagh's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Barhart McCollion as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Babe McTom came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Ballybane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Babe McTom couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute Bevan Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barhart McCollion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bevan Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Babe McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bevan Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Barhart McCollion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Babe McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barhart McCollion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bevan Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cloncagh's zone, Babe McTom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barhart McCollion came out of the goal and Babe McTom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bevan Kirby in the 46th minute of play forced Cloncagh's goalkeeper Barhart McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
After 52 played minutes Cloncagh got a freekick which was hit by Ryon McSteve. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cloncagh's goalkeeper Barhart McCollion, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cloncagh's Berach MaCollin got a free kick in the 56th minute. Barhart McCollion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babe McTom, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Bevan Kirby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballybane's supporters rose to their feet, but Bevan Kirby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barhart McCollion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bressal Lavine in the 71st minute of play forced Ballybane's goalkeeper Bearnard Holt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Babe McTom came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Ballybane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Babe McTom couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute Babe McTom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barhart McCollion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Babe McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Ballybane's Bevan Kirby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barhart McCollion narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Babe McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballybane's supporters rose to their feet, but Babe McTom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barhart McCollion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Ballybane players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
