Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Baine McTommy took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Baine McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloonakilleg's supporters rose to their feet, but Baine McTommy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blathmac McCollion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Baine McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute Baine McTommy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmac McCollion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baine McTommy in the 14th minute of play forced Ballydrenid Utd's goalkeeper Blathmac McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roy McPeter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brecc Gillmour's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. If Brecc Gillmour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Rorry Kirby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballydrenid Utd and the Cloonakilleg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baine McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brecc Gillmour made a kick off. After some careless play in the Cloonakilleg defense, Brecc Gillmour kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roy McPeter. The Cloonakilleg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roy McPeter should have stopped the shot. Baine McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmac McCollion having to interfere. Rian Deery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 played minutes Cloonakilleg got a freekick which was hit by Bradain Deans. A collision led to Ballydrenid Utd getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Rannal Tierney hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Brecc Gillmour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ballydrenid Utd fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cloonakilleg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
