Damian Gollogley charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Gollogley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Breas Robinson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baine McTommy in the 16th minute. Roy McPeter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rigan McPhil in the 19th minute of the match. Roy McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Gillmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Baine McTommy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castlebridge's Breas Robinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Damian Gollogley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Gillmour in the 32nd minute of play forced Cloonakilleg's goalkeeper Roy McPeter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Rigan McPhil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy McPeter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Brady Jameson made a precise shot to the right of Roy McPeter. Cloonakilleg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Roy McPeter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Richard Gillmour went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Cloonakilleg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Castlebridge were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baine McTommy made a kick off. The supporters of Castlebridge booed when Cloonakilleg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barde McLiam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roy McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Gollogley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigan McPhil hit a great ball. Cloonakilleg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Richard Gillmour scored to the left of an out of position Roy McPeter, making the score, 0-3. In the 78th minute, Bradain Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roy McPeter was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reginald Beckett. When Cloonakilleg's Baine McTommy in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Castlebridge's goalie prevented a goal.
