Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bevan Kirby got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Quirk McVictor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballybane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballydrenid Utd the free kick. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballybane! Ailill McGlynn shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Bevan Kirby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blathmac McCollion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babe McTom in the 22nd minute of play. Bevan Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmac McCollion having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Brecc Gillmour got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Babe McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th match minute, Ballydrenid Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rian Deery to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Ballydrenid Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Bevan Kirby came free, but Blathmac McCollion reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bevan Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brakawn McGlenn kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brecc Gillmour to make the kick off. Ballybane's Bevan Kirby got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brecc Gillmour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Bearnard Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Babe McTom in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Blathmac McCollion, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Babe McTom who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Blathmac McCollion when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 63 minutes into the match, Ballybane's Babe McTom sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Blathmac McCollion narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 66 played minutes Ballydrenid Utd got a freekick which was hit by Ailill McGlynn. If Babe McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Bevan Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmac McCollion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bevan Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Blathmac McCollion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Babe McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Rorry Kirby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bevan Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmac McCollion having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Barra McGlynn recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Blathmac McCollion. Barra McGlynn showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Ballydrenid Utd's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Bevan Kirby scored to the left of an out of position Blathmac McCollion, making the score, 0-2. Ballybane played a much better game than Ballydrenid Utd and deserved their victory. The Ballydrenid Utd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
