Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bressal Lavine kicked off to start the match. Aron Walker kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After 6 minutes, John Ryan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cloncagh and the Cloonakilleg players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cloonakilleg booed when Cloncagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Ryan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roy McPeter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Ryan in the 12th minute of play. Bradain Deans hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 22 minutes of play, Cloncagh's Bressal Lavine made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy McPeter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roy McPeter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Ryan, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Bradain Deans's late challenge caught a Cloncagh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradain Deans helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Cloonakilleg got a freekick which was hit by Bradain Deans. 28 minutes into the match, Cloncagh's Robert Kirby broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 30th minute John Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy McPeter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Cloonakilleg's Baine McTommy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Barhart McCollion made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Bressal Lavine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Roy McPeter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cloonakilleg getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Aron Walker hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Cloncagh's Paud Palmer got a free kick in the 42nd minute. If Baine McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aron Walker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
After 66 played minutes Cloncagh got a freekick which was hit by Bressal Lavine. Baine McTommy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Barhart McCollion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Cloncagh got a freekick which was hit by Paud Palmer. In the 75th match minute, Cloonakilleg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Walker to maneuver through the defense. Bressal Lavine hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cloncagh booed when Cloonakilleg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rownun Robinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Cloonakilleg's Hickey Dempsey got a free kick in the 95th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Cloonakilleg were victorious despite being under pressure from Cloncagh for much of the match.
