Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Phelan Johnson took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 minutes, Berry McNamee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Myrtlegrove and the Scartaglin players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 2 played minutes Myrtlegrove got a freekick which was hit by Berry McNamee. Caroll Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Myrtlegrove's zone, Bree McWill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caroll Rutherford came out of the goal and Bree McWill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute, Branigan McPhilip hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phelan Johnson in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reilly McLiam saved Scartaglin from getting behind. Caroll Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 20 minutes of play, Scartaglin's Bree McWill made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caroll Rutherford was left in no man's land by his defense there! Myrtlegrove's Phelan Johnson got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Liam Barrett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reilly McLiam was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phelan Johnson in the 29th minute of play forced Scartaglin's goalkeeper Reilly McLiam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liam Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reilly McLiam having to interfere. In the 36th minute Phelan Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reilly McLiam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Scartaglin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berkeley McBrand to maneuver through the defense. Scartaglin were furious when Berkeley McBrand was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 47th minute, one of Scartaglin:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Scartaglin.

The wind increased when Bree McWill made the kick off in the second half. Caroll Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caoilte McPeter in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Scartaglin booed when Myrtlegrove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suibhne Cassin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caroll Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bree McWill, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. If Phelan Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th match minute, Scartaglin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dermod McBjarton to maneuver through the defense. Dermod McBjarton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bree McWill might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caroll Rutherford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bree McWill ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Myrtlegrove's goalkeeper Caroll Rutherford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 86 minutes, Dermod McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scartaglin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dermod McBjarton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bree McWill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Myrtlegrove's zone, Bree McWill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caroll Rutherford came out of the goal and Bree McWill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bree McWill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caroll Rutherford having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dawayne Colwell during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 98 minutes into the game, Phelan Johnson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Myrtlegrove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scartaglin the free kick. In the 98th match minute, Myrtlegrove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phelan Johnson to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Scartaglin getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Dawayne Colwell hit a great ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Myrtlegrove were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Scartaglin side.
