Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rorke Morrison made the kick off which started today's match. A hard shot 9 in the game by Banvan Benson from a close distance when the talented Cian Byrne managed to make a qualified save. Pettigo's players were relieved. Rorke Morrison who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Cian Byrne when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Banvan Benson got free with Cian Byrne in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cian Byrne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Banvan Benson in the 17th minute. After 19 played minutes, Pettigo's Lochlainn Benson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rylee Rogers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pettigo reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Pettigo's zone, Banvan Benson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cian Byrne came out of the goal and Banvan Benson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Lochlainn Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the game, Fintan Hunt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cian Byrne. Fintan Hunt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Alan McWilliam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rylee Rogers having to interfere. If Banvan Benson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Banvan Benson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Rylee Rogers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blavock McBjarton in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blavock McBjarton in the 56th minute of play forced Knockgaffon's goalkeeper Rylee Rogers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute Banvan Benson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cian Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Banvan Benson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cian Byrne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Banvan Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Cian Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Harrington Barrett fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pettigo's protests and gave Harrington Barrett a yellow card for diving instead. Harrington Barrett kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the game, Fintan Hunt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knockgaffon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pettigo the free kick. The supporters of Pettigo booed when Knockgaffon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fintan Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Banvan Benson made a precise shot to the right of Cian Byrne. Pettigo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Banvan Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Cian Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brickeen Coyle's late challenge caught a Knockgaffon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Holt made a great header on Knockgaffon's corner, it was just that Pettigo's Cian Byrne managed to reach the ball for a save.
