Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Douglas Walker took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bree McWill got free with Brefni McNamara in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Scartaglin booed when Hermitage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torin Tierney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hermitage's zone, Bree McWill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brefni McNamara came out of the goal and Bree McWill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dermod McBjarton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If George Robinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Torin Tierney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hermitage's Art McNamee couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Scartaglin. 40 minutes into the match, Hermitage's goalkeeper Brefni McNamara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bree McWill. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rourke Keegan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Reilly McLiam successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Rourke Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Hermitage got a freekick which was hit by Tipper Hutton. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Bree McWill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scartaglin's supporters rose to their feet, but Bree McWill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brefni McNamara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglas Walker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brefni McNamara having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Rourke Keegan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reilly McLiam. Rourke Keegan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Rourke Keegan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Reilly McLiam made a huge save. In the 74th minute of the match Berkeley McBrand sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brefni McNamara skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Scartaglin's zone, George Robinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reilly McLiam came out of the goal and George Robinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rourke Keegan in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reilly McLiam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 81 minutes of play, Scartaglin's Douglas Walker made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brefni McNamara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rourke Keegan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Reilly McLiam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bree McWill struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Brefni McNamara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scartaglin. 91 minutes in the game, Rourke Keegan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Reilly McLiam having to interfere. George Robinson came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Reilly McLiam could save by the left post. 96 minutes into the match, Hermitage's Rourke Keegan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reilly McLiam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
