The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Monavarnoge's Gerald McDecland in the 2nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Tathan McCready was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Glinsk through an amazing save. Gerald McDecland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tathan McCready having to interfere. Glinsk's Treno Colwell suffered a concussion in the 12th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Dennis Ghee charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dennis Ghee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Monavarnoge's Dennis Ghee got a free kick in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tevis Silke got free with Tathan McCready in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tevis Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Tathan McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tevis Silke came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Monavarnoge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tevis Silke couldn't finish the play. Blake Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginald Dalton , who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Tevis Silke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tathan McCready having to interfere. Glinsk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Gerald McDecland scored to the left of an out of position Tathan McCready, making the score, 1-0. In the 46th minute Britt Willson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blake Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

61 minutes into the match, Monavarnoge's goalkeeper Blake Johnson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Britt Willson. Britt Willson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Blake Johnson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tathan McCready came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Monavarnoge's Tevis Silke. But to his dismay, Tevis Silke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tathan McCready took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tevis Silke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the game, Keefe Robinson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monavarnoge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glinsk the free kick. The supporters of Glinsk booed when Monavarnoge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keefe Robinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tathan McCready took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald McDecland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glinsk's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
