Britain McNamee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rowley McWillie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Killare's goalkeeper Blathmac Dempsey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Killare got a freekick which was hit by Boyd Barrett. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Bras Ramsey took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Rowley McWillie to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Killare's Bras Ramsey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rowley McWillie. That made the score 0-5 after 61 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Britain McNamee in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rowley McWillie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigan McOliver in the 65th minute of play forced Killare's goalkeeper Blathmac Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 played minutes Derrycoosh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Reidy McTom. 72 minutes into the match, Derrycoosh AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bard Silke came free, but Rowley McWillie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Killare could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Derrycoosh AFC throughout the match.
