The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, one of Myrtlegrove:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 6 minutes, Glinsk's Philib O'Neill got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Caroll Rutherford. After a defensive mix-up in Glinsk's zone, Phelan Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tathan McCready came out of the goal and Phelan Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caroll Rutherford stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reginald Dalton 's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Tathan McCready took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reginald Dalton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Caroll Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liam Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glinsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Myrtlegrove the free kick. Quirk Prunty hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 49 minutes, Berry McNamee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Myrtlegrove and the Glinsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Reginald Dalton made the kick off in the second half. Liam Barrett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Tathan McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ros Lester hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Britt Willson struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Caroll Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glinsk. The supporters of Glinsk booed when Myrtlegrove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Branigan McPhilip didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute, Reginald Dalton made a precise shot to the right of Caroll Rutherford. Myrtlegrove's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Glinsk fans cheered their team off the field, for while Myrtlegrove had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
