Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Knockgaffon's Rorke Morrison started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rorke Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Caroll Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Myrtlegrove's Caroll Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rorke Morrison in the 5th minute of play. Caroll Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rorke Morrison in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Knockgaffon's Banvan Benson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Caroll Rutherford made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Harry Barrett's late challenge caught a Knockgaffon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harry Barrett helped the player get up and apologised. Benjamin Deery kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Knockgaffon's goalkeeper Rylee Rogers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Rylee Rogers managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Myrtlegrove's Liam Barrett fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Banvan Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caroll Rutherford having to interfere. Caroll Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaine Dempsey, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 39thth minute of the game Kaine Dempsey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Myrtlegrove's Caroll Rutherford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rorke Morrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caroll Rutherford having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Rorke Morrison ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caroll Rutherford was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Liam Barrett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rylee Rogers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phelan Johnson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Fintan Hunt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caroll Rutherford was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Knockgaffon's zone, Liam Barrett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rylee Rogers came out of the goal and Liam Barrett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Knockgaffon getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Quaid McFrank hit a great ball. After 63 played minutes Knockgaffon got a freekick which was hit by John Holt. In the 68th match minute, Myrtlegrove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Branigan McPhilip to maneuver through the defense. When Knockgaffon's Rorke Morrison in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Myrtlegrove's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Myrtlegrove's Berry McNamee got a free kick in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Myrtlegrove's zone, Rorke Morrison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caroll Rutherford came out of the goal and Rorke Morrison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phelan Johnson struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Rylee Rogers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Myrtlegrove. In the 94th minute, Suibhne Cassin had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 94 minutes into the game, Fintan Hunt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knockgaffon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Myrtlegrove the free kick. When the match was over Knockgaffon could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Myrtlegrove throughout the match.
