Treno Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Bernard Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Ballyhook FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Treno Morrison fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Banon Ryan during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Banon Ryan kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When Andrew McNamee came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Clonegal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrew McNamee couldn't finish the play. Andrew McNamee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Cooney having to interfere. When Donelle Willson fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyhook FC's protests and gave Donelle Willson a yellow card for diving instead. Donelle Willson kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. When Andrew McNamee came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Clonegal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrew McNamee couldn't finish the play. Bernard Cooney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Treno Morrison in the 25th minute of the match. Bernard Cooney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breasal Beckett in the 27th minute. Bernard Cooney made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Breasal Beckett sent off a good shot on target. In the 38th minute, Rorry Scully hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darick McWillie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finbar McBrand, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Rowe McJohn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyhook FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rowe McJohn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darick McWillie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Darick McWillie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rowe McJohn in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Ballyhook FC booed when Clonegal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Payton McCollion didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darick McWillie acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 57th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Beineon McCready. Finbar McBrand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Finbar McBrand got free with Darick McWillie in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Finbar McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clonegal's Darick McWillie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finbar McBrand in the 66th minute of play. Brandan Caffrey charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brandan Caffrey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Clonegal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandan Caffrey to maneuver through the defense. When Rowe McJohn fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyhook FC's protests and gave Rowe McJohn a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clonegal booed when Ballyhook FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowe McJohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clonegal were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ballyhook FC to leave the ground with a draw.
