Spectators: 7701 (Terracing: 5777, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kevin MaCollin kicked off to start the match. Cuilkillew's Timmons Silke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finbar McBrand in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Cuilkillew's goal looked a bit too open when Finbar McBrand came free, but Timmons Silke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Cuilkillew's goal looked a bit too open when Donelle Willson came free, but Timmons Silke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes, Beineon McCready mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyhook FC and the Cuilkillew players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Kevin MaCollin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cuilkillew's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin MaCollin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernard Cooney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38thth minute of the game Finbar McBrand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuilkillew's Timmons Silke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Rorey Hutton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cuilkillew's Kevin MaCollin got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Finbar McBrand to make the kick off. Finbar McBrand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timmons Silke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Ballyhook FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Rowe McJohn hit a great ball. After 72 minutes, Rorey Hutton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuilkillew and the Ballyhook FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Cuilkillew was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rorey Hutton to maneuver through the defense. If Harry Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Finbar McBrand dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Timmons Silke, 0-1. 86 minutes into the game, Finbar McBrand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Timmons Silke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
