In the 13th minute of the match, Beglan Cooney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bernard Cooney saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bairee McAaron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finbar McBrand in the 18th minute of the match. When Finbar McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ballyhook FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finbar McBrand couldn't finish the play. Donelle Willson struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Bairee McAaron didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyhook FC. Bernard Cooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beglan Cooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The tension between the Ballyhook FC and the Drumbrollisk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 played minutes Ballyhook FC got a freekick which was hit by Breck Costello. Ballyhook FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sameer Molloy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ballyhook FC's Bernard Cooney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beglan Cooney in the 83rd minute of play. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
