The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Treno Morrison during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Clonegal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Treno Morrison to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Brefni Deery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darick McWillie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clonegal's Breasal Beckett got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, Clonegal's Breasal Beckett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gearoid McPhilip made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Gearoid McPhilip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerrigan Cooney in the 31st minute of play. Darick McWillie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brefni Deery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Breasal Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kevinn McAlphie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brefni Deery stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Clonegal's goal looked a bit too open when Brefni Deery came free, but Darick McWillie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torran Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th match minute, Clonegal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kerrigan Cooney to maneuver through the defense. Harley Walker was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Clonegal's zone, Brefni Deery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darick McWillie came out of the goal and Brefni Deery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Leckee FC's Brefni Deery sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darick McWillie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Brefni Deery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brefni Deery in the 70th minute of play forced Clonegal's goalkeeper Darick McWillie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th match minute, Clonegal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandan Caffrey to maneuver through the defense. Harley Walker's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Darick McWillie - 2-2 was put on the score board in the 77th minute. Clonegal's Darick McWillie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breen Callaghan in the 80th minute of play. Brefni Deery took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darick McWillie. Darick McWillie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 90 minutes into the game, Clonegal's Breasal Beckett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gearoid McPhilip made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
