With a couple of smart ball manuevers Séamus McOliver in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boru O'Brien saved Bunnagippaun from getting behind. Donn Doherty came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Binne McLaughlin could save by the left post. In the 24th play minute Donn Doherty came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Binne McLaughlin. 1-0. 31 minutes in the game, Séamus McOliver dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Binne McLaughlin made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Donn Doherty sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute, Samueil McStephen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Séamus McOliver charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Séamus McOliver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th match minute, Knockstopher was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Séamus McOliver to maneuver through the defense. Knockstopher's Binne McLaughlin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Knockstopher from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rowley John made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Hayes Gollogley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boru O'Brien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donn Doherty during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Boru O'Brien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Séamus McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Thurl Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boru O'Brien showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Séamus McOliver in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Bunnagippaun getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Rowley John hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Séamus McOliver left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Knockstopher fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 68 played minutes Knockstopher got a freekick which was hit by Perry Lavine. 69 minutes into the match, Bunnagippaun's Finian Cassin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Knockstopher's Samueil McStephen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Boru O'Brien in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Binne McLaughlin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rowley John in the 74th minute of the match. Knockstopher's Brefni Duggan got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Séamus McOliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Bunnagippaun's goalkeeper Boru O'Brien had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samueil McStephen. Knockstopher were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
