Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Patrick Branson got the match started through his kick off. Briain Ramsey hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After 8 minutes of play, Derryrush AFC's Baran Jameson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joseph Rutherford was left in no man's land by his defense there! Herygh Dimson struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Joseph Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derryrush AFC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Riley Callaghan got free with Terence McNamee in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herygh Dimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18thth minute of the game Baran Jameson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballygorteen Utd's Joseph Rutherford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Berchan Coyle charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berchan Coyle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Berchan Coyle kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Baran Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Rutherford having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Ballygorteen Utd got a freekick which was hit by Berchan Coyle. 28 minutes into the match, Ballygorteen Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Herygh Dimson came free, but Joseph Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ballygorteen Utd's Baird McBrand got a free kick in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Branson in the 33rd minute of play forced Derryrush AFC's goalkeeper Terence McNamee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Baran Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Derryrush AFC's zone, Patrick Branson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terence McNamee came out of the goal and Patrick Branson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 1-2 became the score in the 45th minute when Baird McBrand elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Baran Jameson made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Tipper McVictor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Terence McNamee showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Herygh Dimson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Joseph Rutherford made a huge save. Riley Callaghan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terence McNamee having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Derryrush AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Branson came free, but Terence McNamee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Patrick Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 minutes, Baran Jameson made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Ballygorteen Utd's Joseph Rutherford tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Boyle McTommy kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Baran Jameson took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Joseph Rutherford to make any attempt to save it. In the 89th minute of the match Briain Ramsey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Terence McNamee showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Joseph Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baran Jameson, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The supporters of Derryrush AFC booed when Ballygorteen Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Ballygorteen Utd's Riley Callaghan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Terence McNamee narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
