Ballygorteen
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aron Duggan started the match with the kick off. Gerald Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Rutherford having to interfere. If Aron Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joseph Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerald Kirby in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Reilly Doherty was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballygorteen Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coolbanagher the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Ballygorteen Utd:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coolbanagher:s goal. Joseph Rutherford went to the wrong direction when Donoghue McWilliam was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 24th minute Patrick Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iarla McDonald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Patrick Branson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Coolbanagher's Iarla McDonald. Iarla McDonald was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Riley Callaghan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Branson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iarla McDonald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Ballygorteen Utd's Joseph Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Duggan in the 36th minute of play. Riley Callaghan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Iarla McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riley Callaghan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iarla McDonald having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Patrick Branson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bannon Ryan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Aron Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aron Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Joseph Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ballygorteen Utd's Berchan Coyle got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 71st minute Aron Duggan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Coolbanagher getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ryley Gollogley hit a great ball. Ballygorteen Utd's Reilly Doherty couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Coolbanagher. The audience was convinced that Aron Duggan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joseph Rutherford was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Joseph Rutherford came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Coolbanagher's Gerald Kirby. But to his dismay, Gerald Kirby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Riley Callaghan took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iarla McDonald. Iarla McDonald dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ballygorteen Utd fully deserved thier win.
