The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Harrington Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brazil Dunne in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Morrison saved Drumgowan FC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Donell Myler sped through Ferrybank Utd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilbert McGlenn. Rollin Lester kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Drumgowan FC's goalkeeper Douglas Morrison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23 played minutes Drumgowan FC got a freekick which was hit by Braoin McGlynn. Harrington Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes Drumgowan FC got a freekick which was hit by Killian Tierney. After recieving a nice pass, Ferrybank Utd's Rollin Lester tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Drumgowan FC's Braoin McGlynn got a free kick in the 28th minute. A hard shot 31 in the game by Brazil Dunne from a close distance when the talented Douglas Morrison managed to make a qualified save. Drumgowan FC's players were relieved. In the 32nd match minute, Drumgowan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braoin McGlynn to maneuver through the defense. Drumgowan FC's Douglas Morrison proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Drumgowan FC from getting a goal against them. The Ferrybank Utd players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Drumgowan FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donell Myler was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Ferrybank Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Donell Myler came free, but Gilbert McGlenn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harrington Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Douglas Morrison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brazil Dunne in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th match minute, Drumgowan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Killian Tierney to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Brazil Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ferrybank Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Brazil Dunne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Morrison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ferrybank Utd's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Donell Myler scored to the left of an out of position Gilbert McGlenn, making the score, 0-2. Ferrybank Utd's Harrington Kirby pulled a muscle in his leg after 77 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Coinneach O'Brien fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Drumgowan FC's protests and gave Coinneach O'Brien a yellow card for diving instead. Coinneach O'Brien hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Gough in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Morrison prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brazil Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Morrison having to interfere. Roland Gough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Brazil Dunne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Morrison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Roland Gough got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bartley Dunne kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Drumgowan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cronin to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Ferrybank Utd's Rollin Lester in action when he in the 97th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Chants of Drumgowan FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ferrybank Utd had held the ball for most of the match.
