Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rigan Tierney took the kick off in the first half of the match. Teddy Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Dillon, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Drumahayre's Gill Cronin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donn Savic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 12 minutes, Gill Cronin made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Roo FC's Donn Savic tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 15 minutes of play, Roo FC's Peter Dillon made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teddy Hunt was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute, Antaine McPhil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Drumahayre's Teddy Hunt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Dillon in the 20th minute of play. If Rigan Tierney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Teddy Hunt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigan Tierney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Drumahayre's goal looked a bit too open when Rigan Tierney came free, but Teddy Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Rigan Tierney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abban McGlenn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Donn Savic made a huge save. If Peter Dillon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gill Cronin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Rigan Tierney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donn Savic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gill Cronin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Abban McGlenn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drumahayre's supporters rose to their feet, but Abban McGlenn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donn Savic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donn Savic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bantry Robinson in the 69th minute of play. Gill Cronin struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Donn Savic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drumahayre. A collision led to Drumahayre getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Gaynor McWilliam hit a great ball. Teddy Hunt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Dillon in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abban McGlenn in the 88th minute of play forced Roo FC's goalkeeper Donn Savic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Roo FC's zone, Gill Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donn Savic came out of the goal and Gill Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
