Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rowley Hutton kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes Derrynameel got a freekick which was hit by Brandon McOliver. Art McPhil kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Derrynameel's Ricard Hamilton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rowley Hutton in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Rowley Hutton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricard Hamilton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Brandan McJon kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berrin Ghee during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Licketstown's Berrin Ghee got a free kick in the 17th minute. Bradaigh Ghee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bel McAaron having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Licketstown got a freekick which was hit by Berrin Ghee . The supporters of Derrynameel booed when Licketstown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berrin Ghee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bel McAaron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McOliver in the 30th minute of play. When Brandon McOliver came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Derrynameel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brandon McOliver couldn't finish the play. Darren Mullan's late challenge caught a Licketstown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darren Mullan helped the player get up and apologised. Darren Mullan hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes Licketstown got a freekick which was hit by Keelin Dimson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rowley Hutton in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricard Hamilton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricard Hamilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Louie Crowe in the 41st minute. Brandon McOliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bel McAaron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradaigh Ghee in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brandon McOliver stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Derrynameel getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Darren Mullan hit a great ball. Art McPhil who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Bel McAaron when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bel McAaron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McOliver in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to Licketstown getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Berrin Ghee hit a great ball. Brandon McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Bel McAaron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Brandon McOliver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricard Hamilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louie Crowe in the 67th minute of the match. Derrynameel's Brandon McOliver got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Licketstown getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Kevion Caffrey hit a great ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Licketstown's goalkeeper Bel McAaron, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Licketstown's Bel McAaron proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Licketstown from getting a goal against them. Bradaigh Ghee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Licketstown's Bel McAaron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon McOliver in the 85th minute of play. Bradaigh Ghee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bel McAaron having to interfere. Bradaigh Ghee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derrynameel's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Licketstown had won, even though Derrynameel had held more of the ball.
