In the 11th minute, Bohermeen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Berrin Ghee fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 11 minutes into the game, Barhart Todd was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bohermeen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Licketstown the free kick. In the 12th minute, Barhart Todd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Bohermeen's goalkeeper Torrans Taylor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Louie Crowe. Louie Crowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Torrans Taylor made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Bohermeen's Berrigan McTommy got a free kick in the 21st minute. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Rowley Hutton put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Torrans Taylor. Brion Palmer scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bel McAaron, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Torrans Taylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keelin Dimson in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, Bohermeen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thom Dalton to maneuver through the defense. After 47 minutes, Rowley Hutton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Licketstown and the Bohermeen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Licketstown's Rowley Hutton got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Rowley Hutton made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes, Licketstown's Kevion Caffrey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torrans Taylor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Licketstown reached it. In the 56th minute Louie Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torrans Taylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berrin Ghee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Benen McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bohermeen's supporters rose to their feet, but Benen McGlynn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bel McAaron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bow Ryan charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bow Ryan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 68 played minutes Bohermeen got a freekick which was hit by Bow Ryan. A collision led to Bohermeen getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Thom Dalton hit a great ball. Boyne Perth came free in the 76th minute and tried to tip the ball over Bel McAaron, but to the joy of Licketstown's supporters the ball went over. After having played for 82 minutes, Benen McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bohermeen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benen McGlynn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brion Palmer during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Licketstown booed when Bohermeen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brion Palmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Kevion Caffrey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Torrans Taylor showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Benen McGlynn received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bel McAaron came out and tried to block the shot, but Benen McGlynn slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 91st minute. Torrans Taylor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keelin Dimson in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bohermeen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
