Kilcusnaun's Nollaig McBrandon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiomoid Gillmour in the 4th minute of play. Barley Hutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Gollogley , who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, John Gollogley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Barley Hutton, 1-0. A collision led to Kilcusnaun getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Barney Mulvihill hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aban Duggan got free with Barley Hutton in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Gollogley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Barley Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Cahersherkin Utd's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aban Duggan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cahersherkin Utd's Barley Hutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Gollogley in the 24th minute of play. Nollaig McBrandon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herygh Ghee went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiomoid Gillmour in the 29th minute of play forced Kilcusnaun's goalkeeper Nollaig McBrandon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes, Barram Costello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kilcusnaun and the Cahersherkin Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute, Barram Costello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Kilcusnaun booed when Cahersherkin Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierson O'Brien didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aban Duggan struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Barley Hutton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilcusnaun. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herygh Ghee made a kick off. Aban Duggan scored 3-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barley Hutton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Barley Hutton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aban Duggan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If John Gollogley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiomoid Gillmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Pierson O'Brien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Kilcusnaun were the better team. Kilcusnaun's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
