After having played for 4 minutes, John Gollogley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilcusnaun's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Gollogley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conaill O'Down was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but John Gollogley showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match Roland Mulvihill shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Conaill O'Down showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Quirk Kirby struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Nollaig McBrandon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Listicall AFC. Kilcusnaun's John Gollogley got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Gollogley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John Gollogley struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Conaill O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilcusnaun. Timmons McJon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nollaig McBrandon having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Listicall AFC's zone, Aban Duggan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conaill O'Down came out of the goal and Aban Duggan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the game, Listicall AFC's Quirk Kirby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nollaig McBrandon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 41st minute, Aban Duggan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conaill O'Down was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Kilcusnaun's zone, Timmons McJon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nollaig McBrandon came out of the goal and Timmons McJon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Quirk Kirby to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Kilcusnaun's John Gollogley made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conaill O'Down was left in no man's land by his defense there! 60 minutes into the match, Listicall AFC's goal looked a bit too open when John Gollogley came free, but Conaill O'Down reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Gollogley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Conaill O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bivitas McAlphie charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bivitas McAlphie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th match minute, Listicall AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bivitas McAlphie to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Aban Duggan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that John Gollogley 's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conaill O'Down was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. With his leg Nollaig McBrandon managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Listicall AFC's Timmons McJon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aban Duggan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conaill O'Down having to interfere. Conaill O'Down took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Gollogley , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerard Prunty hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
