Sheridan McNamara started the match with the kick off. Barley Hutton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daron Doyle in the 5th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Daron Doyle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barley Hutton was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. If Sheridan McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ballysheeda's Sheridan McNamara in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cahersherkin Utd's goalie prevented a goal. When Herygh Ghee came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Cahersherkin Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herygh Ghee couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes Cahersherkin Utd got a freekick which was hit by Boyne McBrand. After recieving a nice pass, Ballysheeda's Barran Hamilton tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Barley Hutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sheridan McNamara in the 19th minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match Beollan Myler shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barley Hutton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Daron Doyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sheridan McNamara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley Hutton having to interfere. A collision led to Cahersherkin Utd getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Boyne McBrand hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cahersherkin Utd's zone, Sheridan McNamara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barley Hutton came out of the goal and Sheridan McNamara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boyne McBrand kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Tiomoid Gillmour came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Cahersherkin Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiomoid Gillmour couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tiomoid Gillmour made the kick off in the second half. Sheridan McNamara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Breas McWill hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Giles Gallagher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cahersherkin Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Giles Gallagher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aubrey Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Cahersherkin Utd getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Boyne McBrand hit a great ball. If Sheridan McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sheridan McNamara might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barley Hutton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sheridan McNamara ran back to his position shaking his head. Sheridan McNamara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Barley Hutton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Ballysheeda booed when Cahersherkin Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierson O'Brien didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Cahersherkin Utd getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Giles Gallagher hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes Barran Hamilton shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Cahersherkin Utd's Barley Hutton to catch but Barran Hamilton was lucky. It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Barley Hutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sheridan McNamara, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. With his leg Barley Hutton managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Ballysheeda's Sheridan McNamara fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 90th minute, Tiomoid Gillmour ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aubrey Dempsey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Bealtaine Deery's late challenge caught a Ballysheeda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bealtaine Deery helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cahersherkin Utd's Bealtaine Deery got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ballysheeda's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
