Ballysheeda

Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sheridan McNamara kicked off to start the match. In the 6th match minute, Ballysheeda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bracken McStephen to maneuver through the defense. After 11th play minutes Beiti Frankson shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Aubrey Dempsey and just under the crossbar into goal. Beiti Frankson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ballysheeda's zone, Beiti Frankson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aubrey Dempsey came out of the goal and Beiti Frankson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Boley Utd's Blathmac Caffey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aubrey Dempsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th match minute, Boley Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tipper McSteven to maneuver through the defense. Sheridan McNamara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Beag McMichel made a huge save. After the first half Boley Utd were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Blathmac Caffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beiti Frankson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Aubrey Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sheridan McNamara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beag McMichel having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Beiti Frankson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aubrey Dempsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bracken McStephen's late challenge caught a Boley Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bracken McStephen helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes Ballysheeda got a freekick which was hit by Bracken McStephen. In the 70th minute, Barr McJohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ballysheeda's Bracken McStephen got a free kick in the 71st minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Beiti Frankson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boley Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beiti Frankson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boley Utd's Tipper McSteven couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ballysheeda. When Ballysheeda's Daron Doyle in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boley Utd's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Boley Utd's zone, Daron Doyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beag McMichel came out of the goal and Daron Doyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daron Doyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beag McMichel having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Darragh McPaul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daron Doyle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Beag McMichel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Boley Utd walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
