Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sheridan McNamara made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Darragh Costello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes in the game, Darragh Costello fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aubrey Dempsey having to interfere. David McBjarton came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aubrey Dempsey could save by the left post. If David McBjarton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Turlough Ramsey kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cloonbannin's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barran Hamilton was slow to take the kick. During this time Ballysheeda's players had a chance to rest. Darragh Costello took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aubrey Dempsey. Aubrey Dempsey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Daron Doyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Sheridan McNamara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aubrey John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David McBjarton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aubrey Dempsey having to interfere. If Darragh Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Cloonbannin's goal looked a bit too open when Daron Doyle came free, but Aubrey John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cloonbannin's David McBjarton got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ballysheeda getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Binne Gallagher hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Darragh Costello made the kick off in the second half. Binne Gallagher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Aubrey John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cloonbannin booed when Ballysheeda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Binne Gallagher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daron Doyles short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Aubrey John to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Bracken McStephen fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballysheeda's protests and gave Bracken McStephen a yellow card for diving instead. Ballysheeda's Aubrey Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David McBjarton in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Beglan Ferguson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Aubrey Dempsey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aubrey John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sheridan McNamara in the 89th minute of the match. Daron Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cloonbannin fans' excitement grew in the 98th match minute when Cloonbannin's Darragh Costello looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballysheeda players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cloonbannin.
