Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Beolagh McPeter took the kick off in the first half of the match. Beolagh McPeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Tomás Ghee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cornabrogue's Brosnan Deans got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tobin Caffrey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glenn McNamara in the 10th minute of the match. Rollan Brennan's late challenge caught a Furnace FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rollan Brennan helped the player get up and apologised. Rollan Brennan hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Glenn McNamara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Glenn McNamara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cornabrogue's Tobin Caffrey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cornabrogue's goalkeeper Tobin Caffrey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Cornabrogue's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn McNamara came free, but Tobin Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pat Caffrey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobin Caffrey having to interfere. Pat Caffrey struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Tobin Caffrey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Furnace FC. When Pat Caffrey came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Furnace FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pat Caffrey couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Glenn McNamara made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Glenn McNamara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Furnace FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn McNamara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tobin Caffrey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glenn McNamara, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Glenn McNamara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Cornabrogue's goal looked a bit too open when Pat Caffrey came free, but Tobin Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Pat Caffrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glenn McNamara in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tobin Caffrey saved Cornabrogue from getting behind. Glenn McNamara struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Tobin Caffrey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Furnace FC. After 94 minutes of play, Furnace FC's Glenn McNamara made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tobin Caffrey was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Furnace FC had won after a very even match.
