Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keegan McSteve in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aengus McPeter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pierson Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Killbarly's Art Deery got a free kick in the 9th minute. Keegan McSteve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Killbarly's goalkeeper Aengus McPeter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aengus McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keegan McSteve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aengus McPeter had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Bearnad Caffrey's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Corlee's goal looked a bit too open when Irwin McFrank came free, but Bil Martyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ailill Gallagher during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Ailill Gallagher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bil Martyn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Irwin McFrank's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Beairtle Dillon tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Aengus McPeter. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-0 in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Keegan McSteve to strike the kick off in the second half. If Pierson Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keegan McSteve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aengus McPeter having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Bercan McLaughlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corlee's supporters rose to their feet, but Bercan McLaughlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aengus McPeter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Críostóir McStephen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bil Martyn having to interfere. A collision led to Killbarly getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Darby Dalton hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keegan McSteve in the 76th minute of play forced Killbarly's goalkeeper Aengus McPeter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Corlee fans cheered their team off the field, for while Killbarly had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
