Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Spaville's Lee McGlynn started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Ballinasloe FC's Barra Doherty in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Spaville's goalie prevented a goal. 5 minutes into the match, Spaville's goal looked a bit too open when Rordan McPaul came free, but Beagan Harkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Spaville's goalkeeper Beagan Harkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braden Ryan. The audience was convinced that Dermot McDonald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theobald Martyn was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. In the 11th minute, Lee McGlynn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spaville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Brady Gough came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ballinasloe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brady Gough couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Barra Doherty put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Beagan Harkin. Theobald Martyn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bragan Dunne, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The audience was convinced that Lee McGlynn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theobald Martyn was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 45th match minute, Ballinasloe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barra Doherty to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes, Spaville's Edwin McLaughlin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Theobald Martyn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Spaville reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Rordan McPaul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballinasloe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rordan McPaul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Spaville's Beagan Harkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ailill John in the 91st minute of play. There was no doubt that Ballinasloe FC were the better team. Ballinasloe FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
