After a rather tough play, Ballinasloe FC's Lee Johnson got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 22ndth minute of the game Barra Doherty who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glenatlucky's Timmons Willson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dane Todd might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timmons Willson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dane Todd ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 31 minutes, Adamnan Coyle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballinasloe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adamnan Coyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braden Ryan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Braden Ryans short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Timmons Willson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rordan McPaul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irwin Rogers made a kick off. Barra Doherty might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timmons Willson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Theobald Martyn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bedilia Dunne in the 59th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Ballinasloe FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Glenatlucky:s goal. Theobald Martyn went to the wrong direction when Peadar McFrancise was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Glenatlucky's goal looked a bit too open when Braden Ryan came free, but Timmons Willson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ballinasloe FC's Theobald Martyn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pearce Gillmour in the 63rd minute of play. Donegan Martyn took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Theobald Martyn. Theobald Martyn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the last second Theobald Martyn throw himself and got hold of the ball when Irwin Rogers in the 68thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Theobald Martyn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pearce Gillmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Brady Gough fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinasloe FC's protests and gave Brady Gough a yellow card for diving instead. Brady Gough hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute Irwin Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theobald Martyn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 played minutes Glenatlucky got a freekick which was hit by Donegan Martyn. After a rather tough play, Ballinasloe FC's Adamnan Coyle got a free kick in the 95th minute.
