Spectators: 6768 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brayden McWillie got the match started through his kick off. The long shot by Briain Murphy in the 4th minute really tested Nolyn McJohnny's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Gilbert McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nolyn McJohnny having to interfere. In the 10th minute Brayden McWillie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rowland Moran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Tormaigh Mullan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cottian's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cloonusker the free kick. In the 11th minute, Tormaigh Mullan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rowland Moran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keely Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ferdia Prunty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, Cloonusker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abbot McJames to maneuver through the defense. Rowland Moran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keely Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Brayden McWillie came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Cloonusker fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brayden McWillie couldn't finish the play. When Heron Ferguson fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloonusker's protests and gave Heron Ferguson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Cloonusker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heron Ferguson to maneuver through the defense. Ferdia Prunty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdia Prunty made a kick off. Rowland Moran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brayden McWillie in the 54th minute of play. If Keely Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keely Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Cloonusker booed when Cottian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randal Moran didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Keely Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes, Ferdia Prunty made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cloonusker's Nolyn McJohnny tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 69th minute Ferdia Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nolyn McJohnny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Brayden McWillie recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rowland Moran. Brayden McWillie showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 80 minutes into the match, Cottian's goalkeeper Rowland Moran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keely Keegan. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Keely Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloonusker's supporters rose to their feet, but Keely Keegan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rowland Moran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cloonusker's Nolyn McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdia Prunty in the 92nd minute of play. When Cloonusker's Brayden McWillie in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cottian's goalie prevented a goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
