The crowd rose to their feet as Cloonusker's Brayden McWillie slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Shey Mullan. That made the score 1-1 after 67 minutes of play. After 72 minutes, Braddon Cronin made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cloonusker's Nolyn McJohnny tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute Keely Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shey Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shey Mullan came out of the goal and Brayden McWillie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Derrybeg were victorious despite being under pressure from Cloonusker for much of the match.
