Spectators: 6781 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 0) Derrooly FC's Beale Lavine started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Clownings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence McCready to maneuver through the defense. Roland McJames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cahir Harkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Ros Dillon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Derrooly FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clownings the free kick. In the 18th minute, Ros Dillon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beltany Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Isaac Lavine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Braden Mulvihill was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clownings's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Derrooly FC the free kick. The supporters of Derrooly FC booed when Clownings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braden Mulvihill didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Joseph Murphy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derrooly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joseph Murphy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Joseph Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Bodibeua Tierney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edwin Perth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Roland McJames made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cahir Harkin to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Clownings's zone, Bowie Branson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Lavine came out of the goal and Bowie Branson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ros Dillon got his second yellow card in the match during the 64th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 67 played minutes Clownings got a freekick which was hit by Aaden McPhilip. In the 75th minute, Joseph Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Beale Lavine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beale Lavine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Lavine having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Derrooly FC got a freekick which was hit by Piers Willson.
