Brefni Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derin McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Brak Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Brak Cooney successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 27 minutes into the match, Calliagh's Alfred Savic sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Louie Willson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Frevanagh Utd's Reamann McCollion got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Bradigan McBrand shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louie Willson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Alfred Savic sped through Frevanagh Utd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Louie Willson. 43 minutes into the game, Calliagh's Donegal Holt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Louie Willson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. When Pawd Walker fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Frevanagh Utd's protests and gave Pawd Walker a yellow card for diving instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfred Savic made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Savic in the 61st minute of play forced Frevanagh Utd's goalkeeper Louie Willson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Louie Willson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alfred Savic showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 64 minute of play. Louie Willson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bradigan McBrand. Alfred Savic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Arthur Cooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brak Cooney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Louie Willson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Savic in the 75th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keelin McWillie during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Frevanagh Utd's zone, Alfred Savic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louie Willson came out of the goal and Alfred Savic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Keelin McWillie was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. In the 81st minute, Keelin McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Arthur Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, Calliagh's Basil Murphy got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Calliagh's goalkeeper Brak Cooney, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfred Savic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louie Willson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Frevanagh Utd's zone, Brefni Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louie Willson came out of the goal and Brefni Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calliagh's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
