But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bowie Branson couldn't finish the play. Blathmac Horgan struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Roland McJames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bunaw. If Bowie Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Derrooly FC's Beale Lavine got a free kick in the 31st minute. Beale Lavine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryon Ferguson having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Roland McJames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ailill McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roland McJames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ailill McTommy in the 77th minute of the match. Beltany Rogers hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Derrooly FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
