One of Derrooly FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Beennamweel:s goal. The goalkeeper, Roland McJames, was totally fooled by Beennamweel's Bree Dalton , who 18 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Britt McStephen got free with Roland McJames in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joseph Murphy hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. A collision led to Derrooly FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Breannain Mullan hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Beennamweel's Bree Dalton tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Breannain Mullan's late challenge caught a Beennamweel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breannain Mullan helped the player get up and apologised. Breannain Mullan kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of Beennamweel booed when Derrooly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piers Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beennamweel's supporters rose to their feet, but Baoithin Sheridan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland McJames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 86 minutes into the game, Salmon Caffey threw the ball into play from the sideline. Derrooly FC's Blian Grant quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 87th minute, Blian Grant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Beennamweel players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
