Louie Willson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derrooly FC. 17 minutes into the match, Derin McNamara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roland McJames. Derrooly FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Derin McNamara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With 22 minutes on the clock, Sameer Ryan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Roland McJames went to the wrong direction when Pawd Walker was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Frevanagh Utd's Arthur Cooney in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Derrooly FC's goalie prevented a goal. When Arthur Cooney came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Frevanagh Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Cooney couldn't finish the play. After 29 played minutes Derrooly FC got a freekick which was hit by Beltany Rogers. After 33 minutes of play, Frevanagh Utd's Brandon McBrandon made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roland McJames was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boylan McAlphie made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Branagain Mullan. Bowie Branson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ros Dillon hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Blian Grant's late challenge caught a Frevanagh Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blian Grant helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Derrooly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blian Grant to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Derrooly FC's zone, Pawd Walker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland McJames came out of the goal and Pawd Walker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After a rather tough play, Derrooly FC's Breannain Mullan got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 72 minutes, Breannain Mullan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Derrooly FC and the Frevanagh Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. Breannain Mullan kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Bowie Branson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Piers Willson during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Derrooly FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Piers Willson hit a great ball. Beale Lavine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Louie Willson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, Frevanagh Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon McBrandon to maneuver through the defense.
