Bearchan McBjarton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beale Lavine in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Meens booed when Derrooly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piers Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Ros Dillon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Beale Lavine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bearchan McBjarton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 47 minutes on the clock, Darrin Benson commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 46 minutes into the game, one of Derrooly FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

When Joseph Murphy fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derrooly FC's protests and gave Joseph Murphy a yellow card for diving instead. Bevin Holt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Meens's goalkeeper Bearchan McBjarton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blian Grant. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Beale Lavine took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Bearchan McBjarton to make any attempt to save it. Bearchan McBjarton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beale Lavine in the 70th minute. When Blian Grant came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Derrooly FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blian Grant couldn't finish the play. Blian Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bearchan McBjarton having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Blian Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derrooly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blian Grant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The throw-in from Reilly Caffrey in the 83rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Derrooly FC's Joseph Murphy. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derrick Molloy in the 85th minute of play forced Derrooly FC's goalkeeper Roland McJames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Meens's Bearchan McBjarton got control of the ball when Beale Lavine tried to sneak it across the goal line. Meens were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Derrooly FC for a fine match.
