The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Coran McOliver charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Coran McOliver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes Jamestown got a freekick which was hit by Coran McOliver. Sherlock Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Boddibevve Willson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute Reginald McStephen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basil McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Sherlock Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calfstown's supporters rose to their feet, but Sherlock Kelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boddibevve Willson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Breffni McIan charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breffni McIan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Breffni McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breffni McIan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil McPhilip having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Breffni McIan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basil McPhilip was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 42nd minute Glen McPeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basil McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rollan Murphy fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calfstown's protests and gave Rollan Murphy a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Calfstown got a freekick which was hit by Rollan Murphy. Jamestown's Breffni McIan managed to work through Calfstown's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Breffni McIan dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Reginald McStephen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Jamestown were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reginald McStephen to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Calfstown's goal looked a bit too open when Reginald McStephen came free, but Basil McPhilip reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 56 in the game by Breffni McIan from a close distance when the talented Basil McPhilip managed to make a qualified save. Calfstown's players were relieved. Sherlock Kelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basil McPhilip was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reginald McStephen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 64 minute of play. Reginald McStephen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Basil McPhilip having to make a save. Lewy Deery hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Breffni McIans short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Basil McPhilip to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Breffni McIan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Breffni McIan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Basil McPhilip firmly grabbed it by the left post. Boddibevve Willson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Birr Crowe in the 79th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cashel Caffrey during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Jamestown:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Calfstown:s goal. Lewy Deery walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 90 played minutes Calfstown got a freekick which was hit by Rollan Murphy. Breffni McIan might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basil McPhilip. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breffni McIan ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Reginald McStephen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breffni McIan got free with Basil McPhilip in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jamestown's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
