Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Irving Branson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Bras McDonald scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daron McPhil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 10th minute Bras McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daron McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Raymun Dempsey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Donavan Frankson, 1-1. Harley Frankson hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the game, Dennis Ramsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tallaght's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killycross the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Tallaght was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Ramsey to maneuver through the defense. Hayes McVictor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Daron McPhil. Tallaght's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hayes McVictor charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hayes McVictor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th match minute, Killycross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hayes McVictor to maneuver through the defense. Donncha Myler shot from long distance in the 26th minute, but Donavan Frankson was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Blanaid McBrand charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blanaid McBrand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th match minute, Tallaght was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blanaid McBrand to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Killycross booed when Tallaght was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymun Dempsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Irving Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bras McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Daron McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Tallaght's Blanaid McBrand dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Raymun Dempsey in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Donavan Frankson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Beagan Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Daron McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tallaght's Dennis Ramsey got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Killycross got a freekick which was hit by Rorke Cronin. After recieving a nice pass, Tallaght's Nollaig Doherty tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tallaght! The goalkeeper, Daron McPhil, was totally fooled by Killycross's Hayes McVictor, who 70 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some careless play in the Tallaght defense, Harley Frankson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daron McPhil. The Tallaght fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daron McPhil should have stopped the shot. Donavan Frankson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blanaid McBrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Irving Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daron McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tallaght's Blanaid McBrand in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Killycross's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irving Branson in the 93rd minute of play forced Tallaght's goalkeeper Daron McPhil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Killycross supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Killycross would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
