The audience was convinced that Blanaid McBrand's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Coileán Myler was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Rylie Johnson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daron McPhil having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kilbraney's zone, Blanaid McBrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Coileán Myler came out of the goal and Blanaid McBrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kilbraney's Bartel McGlenn got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Bartel McGlenn off the ground. After a rather tough play, Kilbraney's Bartel McGlenn got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Raymun Dempsey made a precise shot to the right of Coileán Myler. Kilbraney's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rylie Johnson to make the kick off. Tormaigh Benson's late challenge caught a Tallaght's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tormaigh Benson helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Blanaid McBrand rounded Kilbraney's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Rylie Johnson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tallaght's Raymun Dempsey was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 68th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Blanaid McBrand took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Coileán Myler. Coileán Myler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Coileán Myler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blanaid McBrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blanaid McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Coileán Myler having to interfere. Coileán Myler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blanaid McBrand, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Blanaid McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Blanaid McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raymun Dempsey who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Coileán Myler when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
