An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory Deans in the 3rd minute of play forced Lissanisky's goalkeeper Peadar McVictor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Bressal Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloongowla's supporters rose to their feet, but Bressal Hamilton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peadar McVictor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peadar McVictor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bressal Hamilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tevin Coyle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Keegan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Daniel Keegan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Tevin Coyle made a huge save. One of Lissanisky:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cloongowla:s goal. Lissanisky's Peadar McVictor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Lissanisky from getting a goal against them. Lissanisky's Robin Dempsey got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bressal Hamilton got free with Peadar McVictor in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rory Deans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peadar McVictor having to interfere. The Cloongowla supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cloongowla would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
