The audience thought a goal was coming when Binnech Tracy got free with Barhart Gough in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Randal Cassin fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloongowla's protests and gave Randal Cassin a yellow card for diving instead. Tevin Coyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dermod Glen Crowe in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Indreabhan were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rory Deans made a kick off. Berchan McPhilip's late challenge caught a Cloongowla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carson Crowe was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Indreabhan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
