Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brendanus Colwell got the match started through his kick off. Tirloch Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heremon McLiam got free with Coran Doherty in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tirloch Beckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Coran Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Tirloch Beckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Coran Doherty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tirloch Beckett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darrin Branson in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Coran Doherty prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Derry FC booed when Rockfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tevis Myler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Heremon McLiam dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Coran Doherty, 4-0. When Derry FC's Darrin Branson in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rockfield's goalie prevented a goal. Coran Doherty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breccan Ramsey in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Breccan Ramsey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derry FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coran Doherty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shey McPhilip in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Thurl Doyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Coran Doherty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Shey McPhilip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derry FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shey McPhilip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Derry FC booed when Rockfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doney Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, one of Rockfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rockfield. Rockfield:s Coran Doherty showed great skill when he stopped Breccan Ramsey:s penalty. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Breccan Ramsey put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Coran Doherty. Coran Doherty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremiah Cronin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Derry FC were the better team. Derry FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
