Phillip McLaughlin charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phillip McLaughlin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Essexford FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Phillip McLaughlin hit a great ball. Briain Dimson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davie Tierney in the 16th minute. If Bec Brennan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Auley Tierney fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glenade's protests and gave Auley Tierney a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Glenade's Theobald Jameson got a free kick in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Essexford FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Phillip McLaughlin hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the game, Theobald Jameson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Glenade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Essexford FC the free kick. Theobald Jameson hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Breanainn McLiam sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Glenade's Briain Dimson didn't even have to move. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Heron Deans made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Essexford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bec Brennan came free, but Donahue McOliver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Donlevy McAaron fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glenade's protests and gave Donlevy McAaron a yellow card for diving instead. After 59 played minutes Glenade got a freekick which was hit by Donlevy McAaron. Bec Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 64 minutes, Harvey Sheridan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Essexford FC and the Glenade players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 played minutes Essexford FC got a freekick which was hit by Harvey Sheridan. Donahue McOliver stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bec Brennan's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Theobald Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donahue McOliver having to interfere. Donahue McOliver showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bec Brennan, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. When Essexford FC's Heron Deans in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Glenade's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 81 minutes, Heron Deans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Essexford FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heron Deans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blathma Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bec Brennan in the 88th minute of play forced Essexford FC's goalkeeper Donahue McOliver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blathma Dunne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Donahue McOliver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bec Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Glenade left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Essexford FC.
